Recently at Newsarama, Mike Carey gave a very detailed interview about the upcoming Age Of X storyline. When I say very detailed, I really mean very detailed. So for safety’s sake, we’ve gleaned some of the best information from the interview for you:

  • Age of X: Alpha will kick off the story, featuring art by Paul Davidson, Gabriel Hernandez Walta, Harvey Tolibao, Mirco Pierfederici and Carlo Barberi.
  • It’s a seven part story, crossing between New Mutants #22-24 and X-Men Legacy #245-247.
  • New Mutants will be illustrated by Steve Kurth, and X-Men Legacy will be illustrated by Clay Mann.
  • The story is taking place in an alternate universe/timeline where anti-mutant coalitions rule the world, and the story takes place in the “eleventh hour” where “someone” has united the surviving mutants.
  • The new character Basilisk is actually Cyclops.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
