Spoiler alert for those who have not read “Avengers vs X-Men” #11 and/or don’t have given assumptions about how the event will end.
In this week’s “AvX” #11, a bunch of things happened which led to Cyclops going mad with power, to the point that this book is now everybody fighting him. To that end, Marvel has released the official cover to “AvX: Consequences” #1, which shows that yes, the good guys win and Cyclops is taken down. Spoiler? Probably not.
With “AvX” winding down, this book sounds like a coda to both it and Kieron’s “Uncanny X-Men” run, which is also ending alongside “AvX” and the Marvel NOW! relaunch. Those of you who have read this week’s “UXM” will certainly see a lot of the seeds Gillen has placed throughout his book come to fruition as the tyranny of Cyclops goes Super Saiyan, and it should be interesting to see various elements of the event reacted to throughout the series.
Add to that artwork by Tom Raney, Steve Kurth, Scot Eaton, Mark Brooks and Gabriel Hernandez Walta and you’ve got one sweet looking epilogue.
