It was lightly teased at Image Expo but with no images or detalis to really go along with it. All we knew is that Mark Millar was planning some kind of shared universe thing at Image, and the first book would be called “MPH” illustrated by the extremely talented Duncan Fegredo.

Well, as just revealed at The Hollywood Reporter, the details on Millar’s new world has been unveiled. Apparently springing out of the finale to “Kick-Ass 3”, Millar hopes that this book will be his “Fantastic Four” in that it will allow him to run a brand new shared universe. “MPH” is the first of four or five planned books dealing with four 19-year olds that acquire a drug that allows them to move at light-speed for a week — so I guess it’s “Miles Per Hour” then.

Comparing it to a superhero version of Fast and Furious, Millar notes that there are no plans for costumes or code-names in the initial six-issue “MPH” run (pun intended). It will be published through Image this coming February alongside the remaining issues of “Jupiter’s Legacy.”

And, as with all things Millar, your mileage will most definitely vary. But there’s only one option of emotion available in getting new artwork from Duncan Fegredo, and that’s jubilation. Here’s hoping for the best.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
