More "X-Men: First Class" Casting News (Updated!)

Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class already is filled to the brim with talented actors, and it looks like they are on the verge of adding two more in Vaughn veteran Jason Flemyng (Stardust, Kick-Ass) and the immensely talented (and attractive) Rose Byrne (Damages, Adam).

Flemyng will be playing the father of Nightcrawler – Azazel – and MTV Splash Page has some fun quotes from him about the fact that he’ll be wearing a ton of make-up. While Azazel is not a major character in the comics, it should be interesting to see them lay the foundation for Alan Cumming’s character from X-2.

Rose Byrne is not officially signed yet, but I have to implore Fox: SIGN THIS WOMAN. She is perfect for Moiro McTaggert: strong at accents, a versatile and cerebral actress and very attractive. She would be a excellent foil for James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier. This needs to happen people.

More as we get it, as people continue to be added to this cast at an almost alarming rate.

Update: I wrote this too soon. Deadline Hollywood has now confirmed that Oliver Platt (I hope you know who that is) will be in the film as The Man in Black. This is a new character who is not a mutant and given the name is almost assuredly a villain or Johnny Cash.
