We’ve been teasing it all week, but now the cat is out of the bag: Michael Moreci and Vic Malhotra’s sci-fi new series is “Roche Limit” from Image Comics.
This book, which also features the work of colorist Jordan Boyd, letterer Ryan Ferrier and designer Tim Daniel, is both an all-star list of some of Multiversity’s favorite talents and yet another hugely exciting Image release, pairing sci-fi concepts with a very human mystery story. Don’t believe me? Check out the official synopsis of the series below:
“Our destiny is the stars, and I will lead us there.” Twenty years after this promise, billionaire Langford Skaargard’s dream of cosmic exploration is no more. Roche Limit, a colony situated on the cusp of a mysterious energy anomaly, is a melting pot of crime and terrible secrets. When Bekkah Hudson goes missing, the search to find her will plunge her sister and a cadre of the colony’s underworld figures into an odyssey that reveals a grim future for mankind. Blending 001 with Blade Runner, ROCHE LIMIT is the first part of a bold sci-fi/noir trilogy.
It’s a fantastic sounding title, and Malhotra (not “Mahlotra”, as Nerdist may want you to believe) is an artist I’ve had an eye on for a while as someone just waiting for the right title to blow up on. Is this it? I’m not sure, but I can tell you one thing: the preview page seem to want me to think that’s the case. Take a look below, and look for more on this as release approaches on 9/24/14.
