Another week, another movie round up! This week is pretty big and I almost put it off to the last minute, but then I didn’t. Great story, I know! You’re riveted. Perhaps someone should make a comic out of it so someone else can make a movie out of it so I can then report it? Who knows. Only time will tell.

But until then, True Believers, read on!

  • The Red Skull will be the villain in Captain America. Also, the costume sounds weird.
  • Want to see photos from the set of Jonah Hex? Then click here!
  • Ryan Reynolds is working hard on Deadpool. I assume this will be better than the comic.
  • Tim Robbins has joined the cast of Green Lanternas Peter Sarsgaard’s father.
  • Empire Magazine (transcribed by comicbookmovie.com) did an interview with Nic Cage about Kick-Ass… I don’t want to talk about it.
  • Anthony Hopkins says that in Thor, people shan’t talketh as if they were in a Shakespearean production.
  • Jessica Alba still has faith in Sin City 2. Too bad most of us are sick of Frank Miller at this point.
  • Mark Millar’s secret superhero project, a feature film he’s working on after finding working on Kick-Ass and Wanted so much fun, now has funding. Hollywood, you’re about to be beaten down by the insane mind of Mark Millar.
  • Topher Grace wants you to know: Venom is dead. Sony probably doesn’t care.
  • The new Spider-Man movie will come out July 3, 2012, and it’ll be 3-D. Huh. Marc Webb, bring it on.
  • This isn’t really movie news, but The Walking Dead will soon begin filming it’s pilot episode. SO stoked!
  • David Self, the co-writer of The Wolfman, spoke with Superhero Hype about the Deathlok film.. and how it most likely won’t happen. I am not that surprised, but I am enjoying the mini currently releasing now none the less.
  • In an interview at Comics ContinuumWarner Brothers Animation supervising producer Alan Burnett revealed that there would be a 10 minute Green Arrow short with the Under The Hood animated movie. Looking forward to that more than the Judd Winnick movie. OH WAIT. Did you know that the casting of that movie was announced? Bruce Greenwood is Batman, Neil Patrick Harris is Nightwing, John DiMaggio is the Joker, Jason Isaacs is Ra’s Al Ghul, and Jensen Ackles is the Red Hood. Wow.
  • Edgar Wright and Stan Lee are having Ant-Man meetings. Hmm. Really? On top of that. Splash Page has an exclusive chat with Edgar Wright on Ant-Man. Hmm. Ant-Man as a feature film… I wonder if that’ll work.
  • The word is out: Christopher Nolan is giving advice on the Superman reboot (as well as working on a new Batman flick). “What? Superman reboot?” Well, duh. Did you not see Superman Returns or something? On top of that, MTV’s Splash Page has revisited some of Louis Leterrier (director of The Incredible Hulk)’s ideas. Me? I want to see Mark Millar’s.

Oh, and on top of that, here is some advice from Nolan on how to make a superhero movie.

  • With an incredible vote of confidence, The Losers has been pushed back to June. Some might say, “What? Confidence?” But in doing so, Warner Brothers is putting a lot of confidence in the fact that The Losers could work as a big summer blockbuster. I’ll believe it, and I’ve only read a little bit of the story!
  • Because people hate me, Thursday night Twitter went crazy with a “joejonas4spiderman” trending feed. This happened because Demi Lovato of Camp Rock thinks that Joe Jonas can act. Luckily for me, as much as Disney owns Marvel, Marvel doesn’t own the filming rights to Spider-Man, so I’m not too worried. Yet.
  • MTV News talked to Paul Giamatti about the rumored Goon movie that we’re supposed to have by now. He says that he hopes the Goon moves forward. It hasn’t received the green light yet, but Eric Powell himself worked on the script, so one could hope it will.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
