I know that we typically deal with comics news, but bear with me for a second. Crime novel publishing house Mulholland Books has announced that they will be publishing two novels by comics legend Warren Ellis, the first of which will be titled Gun Machine. Ellis describes the upcoming novel as follows:
In GUN MACHINE, I’m writing about a disruptive event: a small sealed Manhattan apartment filled with hundreds of guns, each one used in a single unsolved homicide. But what I’m talking about is money, the acquisition of power, the deals we make in the name of security, the unique soul-killing exhaustion that comes of caring too much for too long, and the faces madness take in our lives.
Look for Ellis’s second novel in the Fall of 2012, and be sure to read the accompanying essay about the similarities between crime and science fiction.
