This Thursday in the Big Apple, the annual comic event of the year kicks off with New York Comic Con! Multiversity will attend as it has every year since it was a thing, and this year we’re going to go bigger than ever — party! Panels! Booth! We’ve got it all, just for you. Why? Because you’re the best.

So, here’s where we’re going to be:

WHEDONVERSITY: A LOOK AT THE FUTURE OF BUFFY AND SERENITY IN COMICS!
Date: Friday, October 11
6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Location: 1A06

Speakers: Georges Jeanty, Rebekah Isaacs, Scott Allie

Description:
Joss Whedon has created some of the most beloved characters in modern pop culture. While many have come and gone from television and film, Dark Horse has continued Buffy’s canonical adventures in Season 8, 9, and now 10! Find out what the future holds for the scoobies, as well as the crew of Serenity in the one panel you won’t wanna miss! Join Dark Horse EIC, Scott Allie, along with artist Rebekah Isaacs (Angel & Faith), as well as Buffy the Vampire Slayer artist, Georges Jeanty, and a few surprise guests for a look back and the first news of what’s to come!

Matt is going to make an appearance on this panel. Why? Who knows. Better go see and find out. “Whedonversity,” though… nice name, right? You’d almost expect a column of a similar name to appear on this website, right? They’re probably unrelated. I don’t know why I’m mentioning it.

Then, if you like what you see in the first few minutes of that panel, join Matt across the hall in fifteen minutes for:

MORNING GLORIES STUDY HALL LIVE!
Date: Friday, October 11
6:45 pm – 7:45 pm

Location: 1A03

Speakers: Joe Eisma, Matthew Meylikhov, Nick Spencer

Description:
From the hit annotation column on Multiversity Comics, it’s MGA Study Hall Live! Join creators Nick Spencer and Joe Eisma as they discuss their hit Eisner-nominated and New York Times Bestselling Image Comics series “Morning Glories” with MGA Study Hall host Matthew Meylikhov, including a live Q&A segment. Questions will be asked, answers will be avoided and all will be well – for a better future.

You may ask — woah, isn’t that cutting it close time-wise? It is. Matt likes to be stressed. Help him!

This is our big panel! An extension of the popular MGA Study Hall columns, Matt, Joe and Nick are going to sit down live, talk “Morning Glories” and answer questions. You read that right: you will ask ANY question about “Morning Glories” you want, and it will be responded to. It may be an indirect response, it may not even be a response you want to hear, but it will be answered!

There is a fun power point that will never be shown again outside of the panel featuring some EXCLUSIVE STUFF!, and there will be prizes given away.

That’s it for panels, unless we decide to crash others or randomly get invited onto stages to dance. We’ll also have a table in Artist Alley — AA7, in the back left corner with other podcasts and websites. Someone will always be at the table, some come say hi! We will have fliers, friendly handshakes, beard grooming tips, cat training tips, comic reading tips, and you can give us tips.

We’ll also be on the floor. If you see anyone from the staff, say hello. Don’t be afraid. We are your best friends.

In addition to all that, there is of course our Big NYCC Party with Image Comics to benefit the Hero Initiative! It is going to be at Stitch (247 West 37th Street, New York, New York 10018), which is a short walk from the Javits center — literally get on 37th street and walk in a straight line until you arrive.

The party will be full of special guests, including all those listed on the flier and Greg Rucka, Brandon Seifert, David Messina, Antony Johnston, Joe Harris, Kurtis Wiebe and Duffy Boudreau! As if you didn’t have enough reasons to show up, right? Check out our updated flier here:

We look forward to seeing you there.
