Mutant-Hunting Exonims Begin "The Decimation"

The third history log for Age Of X has been reaveled, and just like the last one it’s a bit of doozy. Apparently brand new Sentinels called Exonims appeared in response to the attack from the Pheonix. As the log reads:

After the Phoenix demolishes Albany, New York, the United States Government sponsors the mass production of EXONIM Sentinels – technologically-advanced combat vehicles designed to subdue mutants. In the months that follow, the mutant population drastically declines. This period of time becomes known as “the Decimation.”

What’s really interesting about this log, though, is the mention of Decimation. X-Fans and Marvel fans alike will certainly recognize Decimation as the “crossover” that took place after House Of M. At the end of House Of M, Scarlet Witch said “No more mutants,” and disappeared, with the Decimation referring to the loss of mutant powers (which later became the Collective), and a lot of it did revolve heavily on the reactions of Quicksilver, who brought the House of M into being. With this, it looks like the new Sentinels have killed Scarlet Witch, with Quicksilver racing in the background of the image to stop the Exonim, and this mass loss of population is once again referred to as “Decimation.”

Age of X begins in January, and is quickly ramping up to be a ridiculously exciting little crossover. Keep your eyes open, and we’ll let you know more historical logs as we or others find them.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
