New Fables Book Around the Corner?

According to Rich Johnston over at Bleeding Cool, San Diego is going to be a little Fables crazy come Comic Con time. While this only stands to reason given the fact that it has been the most consistently great comic on the market for the last decade, we will have a new reason to love the world created by Bill Willingham (and lavishly illustrated by Mark Buckingham): DC/Vertigo will be announcing a new Fables title come SDCC.

We’ve already had spin-off titles like Jack of Fables and a Cinderella mini, but this is obviously a book that has significant potential for expansion. I mean, basically anything that has ever been written in story form is available for Willingham to expand into (presuming legality, of course). Personally, I can’t imagine it won’t spin-off from the actions of the upcoming Fables #100 and whatever transpires in its pages…the return of Boy Blue? The demise of The Dark One? Perhaps a more permanent look into Flycatcher’s Haven? Who knows, but assuming a quality creative team (and by that, I mean not Jeph Loeb and Larry Stroman), I’ll be on board.

We’ll have more as soon as the announcement comes. Check back for here more the weekend of SDCC.
