New Health Care Law to Receive Comic Adaptation

It seems supporters of President Obama’s new and largely controversial Health Care legislation are sparing no expense to ensure as many people grasp and understand said legislation as possible as the new bill will be given its graphic novel adaptation this coming September. The book, titled “Health Care Reform: What It Is, Why It’s Necessary, How it Works”, is being spearheaded by Jonathan Gruber, an Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist and advisor to President Obama, who’s teenage son is an avid follower of comics. According to Gruber, “When people understand the bill, they like it.” His hope is that presenting the law in a new, more pop-culture friendly way, will encourage those who may not be otherwise interested in delving into the gritty details of the bill to educate themselves rather than blindly follow the stance of any given pundit. I call that a win for the medium if ever there was one.
