Teen Titans: The Game cover

Have you ever heard of a book called Crisis On Infinite Earths? How about The Judas Contract? These are practically staples in any DC Fanboy’s collection, especially the Crisis. Marv Wolfman and George Perez are some of the best creators in the biz, and are responsible for BOTH those works. And now, the DCU blog The Source has announced that the two are teaming up for a BRAND NEW ORIGINAL GRAPHIC NOVEL! Holy. Crap.

120 pages of classic, New Teen Titans action.

George Perez and Marv Wolfman together again.

So, yes. The OGN will hit stores this year. What more is there to say? Let’s check with Marv, shall we?:

“It’s all the regular Titans, obviously because the story was plotted back then it’s Troia, in that costume, Nightwing, Cyborg, Changeling, Danny Chase, Jericho, Starfire, and a number of others but they’re all there. This isn’t a big surprise. What this really is, is the uncovered story that had been done at the height of the Titans. And except for the actual dialoguing, that’s exactly what it is. Because as I said, George drew 80 of the pages back then.”

I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty ridiculously excited. For those that read Final Crisis: Legion of 3 Worlds, you KNOW that George Perez has still got it. That book’s artwork was phenomenal. The last thing I read by Marv Wolfman, though? Not so hot. It was the Vigilante series, and all in all it was fairly poor. I stuck with it through the Deathtrap crossover and then I gave up, and the book was canceled soon after. Deathtrap was a great crossover though, and part of the reason had to be Wolfman and his excellent handling on the Teen Titans.

Of course, certain creators who have returned to some of their famous works have not done that great of a job. Anyone who has read X-Men Forever past the first 3 issues knows this. But I’m going to put my trust in Wolfman, if only because of the excellent art and talent of George Perez. It’s amazing how that man still hasn’t lost his touch. Absolutely wonderful.

Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
