Over at MC, we’re big fans of Steve Niles – whether you’re talking about his comic work or his creator-owned discussion pieces – and Scott Morse. They both bring hugely original ideas that wear their influences on their sleeves, and they draw a lot of admiration from us here at MC.
Today, Morse and Niles announced that they will be collaborating on an ongoing series for an unknown publisher titled “Crime and Terror.” I won’t go into detail as to what it’s about because Morse described it so well to begin with:
“It’s filled with episodes detailing the events in the life of a detective named Mike Fallon who’s going through some serious personal problems. On top of THAT, we’ll be smacking you upside the head with a bunch of short, stand-alone stories: noir, horror, sci-fi, whatever we want. All drawn by me, some written by me, some by Steve. On top of THAT, we’ll be throwing in new prose stories with spot-illos by me. Seriously, monthly is the plan, and every month, you’ll cry with glee as you scream your face off.”
Sounds awesome, right? On top of that, Morse will be coming out with a five-issue mini-series called Ten Against the World at some point this year, also for an unknown publisher. For fans of “Strange Science Fantasy,” it sounds like something you’ll enjoy.
Buckle up for the full-tilt horror ride. Hot rods and monsters, REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE a’la pre-hero Kirby. Kinetic, insane, pure comics.
Both books sound fantastic, and I can’t wait to see them show up in my local comic book store. Keep an eye out, comic fans.
