Via EW, Dark Horse Comics have announced “No One Left to Fight II,” a sequel to writer Aubrey Sitterson and artist Fico Ossio’s 2019 shonen-inspired series. The five-part series will continue the tale of Vâle, the strongest fighter in the world, who struggled with not knowing what to do with his life after saving the world, and depict him suffering from a mysterious illness, while old enemies like the Hierophant are still causing trouble.

“The first saga was planned to be a 10-issue story in two parts,” Ossio said. “That’s why it ended in such a brutal cliffhanger! More than anything, I’m excited to finally complete the first saga and give the fans the proper ending they are waiting for! And also make way for the next sagas we have planned. We have so much more to show of the Fightverse, and it’s always exciting to dive back into it.”

Sitterson said, “This is a genre in and of itself: fight comics. It is one of the most popular and enduring genres anywhere in the world — whether you’re talking about ‘Dragon Ball’ or ‘Naruto’ or the classic stuff like ‘Fist of the North Star’ or ‘Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.’ This stuff is massively, massively popular all over the world, and yet it’s a genre that Americans don’t actually engage with too often. There’s hardly a whole lot of home-grown fight comics. So that’s what we really set out to do. That’s what we attempted to lift from manga: doing that genre, but in monthly, direct-market, 20-page comics.”

“No One Left to Fight II” #1 will be released on October 13. In the meantime, you can read the first issue of the original series for free at EW. The first issues of Sitterson’s other new projects at Dark Horse, “The Worst Dudes” and “Savage Hearts,” are also out now.
