Are you familiar with the series “Strange Nation” from Monkeybrain? If yes, then good — you’re already ahead of us. If not, then lets talk for a minute.
“Strange Nation” is a comic by Paul Allor and Juan Romera, in which a journalist investigating strange phenomenon and classic conspiracies finds herself wrapped up in interaction with all of it. We’ve had Sasquatch, we’ve had aliens, we’ve had cults and more, and so far, we’ve had nothing but nice things to say about it. You trust us, right?
Well, as posted by writer Paul Allor on the “Strange Nation” tumblr, in order to boost sales and raise awareness to the series, Paul is now offering a complete money-back guarantee for the first issue as we gear up for next issue’s finale to the first arc. Paul writes,
Strange Nation is a book that artist Juan Romera and I are very proud of. A madcap story about a journalist who gets caught up in a conspiracy involving aliens, doomsday cults and UFO’s, the book has earned a small but loyal readership. The folks who read it truly seem to like it, and I couldn’t be more proud of that. But — I’ll be honest — Strange Nation has not caught on with the general comics public in the way I had hoped. At the risk of sounding egotistical, I truly believe that this comic deserves a wider readership.
So, I’m offering everyone (in the whole world!) the following deal: Buy Strange Nation #1 for $1. And if you don’t like it? I will refund your money.
How does this work? You head over to Comixology, and buy the book for $1 (hey! This sentence has a convenient hyperlink!). If you don’t like it, e-mail me at paulallorcomics@gmail.com and say, “hey, I didn’t like your comic. Please PayPal me $1 to the following e-mail address.” And I’ll do it, no questions asked, easy as pie. You have literally nothing to lose.
But if you do like it (spoiler: you will) then that’s awesome! And you’ll have the option of buying subsequent issues at the same low price of $1 each. We’re up to issue #7 now, and the next issue wraps up our first major arc.
Head on over to Comixology now to check out the first issue. In the meantime, here’s a preview:
