This is just the best news.

Looks like the Morrison/RZA “Happy!” collaboration isn’t the only film news being announced for NYCC. Long time friends of the site Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour’s “Enormous,” which debuted earlier this year on Image Comics, is being adapted for a film, according to a report from The Hollywood Reporter. The film is set to be produced by Adrian Askarieh, the producer of the Hitman film, and the director attached is — are you ready for this? — Ande Ovredal, the director of the fantastic Norwegian film Trollhunter. Perfect.

But wait. There’s more! The plan is to develop a high-end digital Web series (similar to H+), a TV show AND a feature film to explore the story from multiple angles, featuring a wide array of characters and settings around the globe.

We’ve long been supporters of “Enormous,” and we ran the exclusive announcement that it would be going ongoing at 215 Ink earlier this week. We couldn’t be happier for Tim and Mehdi on the announcement, and can’t wait to see what comes next. Suffice it to say, 2013 is going to be a great year for Tim, Mehdi and fans of the title everywhere.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
