Guess what! Oh, nothing big, just big just Greg freakin’ Rucka is bringing a creator-owned book to Dark Horse! Yeah! Announced over at CBR, it seems like Dark Horse’s plan for NYCC was to bring the best unexpected news. This will be Rucka’s first creator-owned collaboration with Dark Horse as he works with artist Toni Fejzula on a five-issue miniseries titled “Veil”.
“Veil” already seems to have an air of mystery around it in the same way as “Mind The Gap” as it focuses on a girl who wakes up in a subway station with no memory. However, whenever men try to hurt her, they end up dead. That could be a handy skill for approaching some subway stations, at least. What is easily assured of this title is that Rucka will be bringing his deft touch of noir writing to the book as well as a well-written, fully developed and three-dimensional female lead. Sometimes it feels like he’s one of the only male creators in the industry you can count on for well written women.
But, alas, the series debuts next March from Dark Horse, both in print and digitally, so be sure to head over to CBR for some more info on the title. Also, you know, buy the book when it comes out. Come on, people, do with this what you did with “Lazarus”. Don’t let all this Rucka magic go to waste!
