Who doesn’t love Free Comic Book Day? It’s a day where you can pick up quality comics for free from publishers both big and small, and one of the few days you can assuredly find kids perusing the racks as well. It’s seemingly great for the industry and a fun day for retailers and publisher both.

Now it appears that 2011 will bring a micro version of that very same event on Halloween, with 2012 bringing a full-scale FCBD size event on the same day. According to Bleeding Cool (reporting from the Diamond Comic Distributors’ retailer breakfast), that’s just what we’ll get. The 2011 event will bring mini-comics primarily aimed at kids, but 2012? That will be another full-scale invasion of awesomeness, with a mix of low-priced and free comics from all sizes of publisher to entice fans young and old.

More on it as we get it, but 2012 just became all the more attractive.
