Salute, my friends. Announced at New York Comic Con and reported by CBR, Kodansha Comics will be releasing an anthology series based around the critical and financial manga hit, “Attack on Titan” with a murderer’s row of top western comics talent. The manga, created by Hajime Isayama, has sixteen volumes published in the United States so far with several spin-offs. The anthology will be a 250 page, full-color collection of short stories (stories ranging from 5 to 25 pages in length) as well pin-up art.
“Giving creators — especially the creators we’re working with here — the room to stretch their legs has been key in the stories were getting back from them, as each creator finds the part of Titan that speaks to them,” said Kodansha editor Jeanine Schaefer (herself a former editor at Marvel and DC) told CBR, “You can see how each one really lines up with the strongest storytelling instincts of each writer or artist, and everyone is really excited to tell the story they’re telling. So far, every pitch has given me goosebumps.”
