It’s not atypical for Marvel to produce comics based on esteemed book series. In particular, they’ve went hog wild on Stephen King properties, although they are never actually written by King.
Yesterday at the end of the Cup O’ Joe panel at NYCC, they announced that Jeff Lindsay will be bringing his popular “Dexter” series to Marvel, and he will even be writing the series himself.
While the popular Showtime series has split off significantly from the world of the books, it was shared at the panel that Lindsay’s comics will adhere closely to the continuity of the books. Which, for those that love the books more than the show (like our resident Dexter fiend Brandon Burpee), is a huge deal indeed.
