At the Image Panel, it was announced that rising star writer Nick Spencer and artist Christian Ward will be releasing a mini-series for Image Comics in 2011 titled “The Infinite Vacation.” Roughly at the same time, Bleeding Cool was posting a trailer for the comic off YouTube that goes into a bit more depth as to what this book is about…and boy, does it sound awesome.

This is you. You own a surf ship in Hawaii. you dine in the finest restaurants in Paris. You’re hiking the Appalachian Trail. You live in San Francisco. And you are in love with Venice. You’re on a road trip. you are a cowboy. you are a hurricane. You are the President Of The United States Of America.

Go anywhere. Be Anything. The Infinite Vacation. Coming From Image Comics. January 2011.

Concepts like that are the reason why Spencer is one of the hottest names in comics, as I will assuredly be buying that book. If he keeps producing titles of this caliber, I’m guessing every con will feature bigger and bigger announcements, and he had a nice start with yesterday’s Supergirl announcement. It’s been a great con for a lot of people so far, but I’d wager when the smoke clears Nick Spencer has gotten the biggest boost.

And deservedly so. Look for this book January 2011 from Image.
