In the absence of a Runaways book, Christos Gage’s Avengers Academy has quickly become my favorite book about young heroes on the market. It’s full of three dimensional characters going through tough times and still being cool as hell in the process, and I’ve loved every issue.
Big changes are coming for the book though, including the arrival of my lost loves: the Runaways.
At the Marvel Shattered Heroes panel, it was shared that with issue #21 the Academy will go West to now stay in the former West Coast Avengers facilities. At that point, they will bring in a few new team members that include X-23 and some of those aforementioned Runaways (with some covers from artist David Lafuente in the process).
They had me at West Coast Avengers, so the rest is just gravy.
Look for more as this comes, but this news is spectacular.
