Apparently the roster of the new Guardians of the Globe book set in the Invincible universe is going to be the oddest one ever. Starting off with Invincible, this exercise felt legit even though it was set up to mock Marvel’s recent Avengers announcements. Up second, Spawn joined and gave us a snide message that made it seem perhaps a bit more jokey. Then yesterday Rick Grimes from The Walking Dead signed up and we knew it was completely untrue. Now? President Barack Obama has signed up for the Guardians of the Globe, and you better believe this one supports Death Panels…but only for his enemies!
I’m really loving this. I mean come on…look at that message: “I’m not as popular as I used to be. How much is Amazing Spider-Man 583 going for on eBay?” That is absolutely classic, and pure Kirkman. You have to give the guy credit, he has some serious balls for doing crafting that little nugget. Can’t wait to see tomorrow…any bets? My money is on Jesus, or at the very least Han Solo.
