Fresh from Entertainment Weekly, your apparent source for all things Marvel Studios, the above photo of the Red Skull has just appeared and is making it’s rounds across the collective internets. Skull, along with a nice Hydra logo and looks rather menacing, but in that good kind of way.

The article goes further to elaborate on how Skull will end up this way, which is an admitted spoiler, so we’ll blank it out for sensitive eyes: the bad guys of the film, aka the Nazis, will be developing their own super soldier system that in turn effects Johann Schmidt and makes him all ghoulish. The reason for this being is that the super soldier serum can only bring out your inner persona, so with Steve being all “go America!” in his heart, it allows him to become the wonderful hunk of manmeat that we se ein Chris Evans, whereas the always evil Hugo Weaving simply gets quite fetchingly ugly. So there’s that!

The interview at EW goes much further with director Joe Johnston, elaborating on different elements of the film that might – to some – be considered spoilers, so click through to the source at your own risk.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
