After appearing in a one-off story in “Harley Quinn” #42, Old Lady Harley is making a return in a five-issue miniseries this October. Frank Tieri and Mauricet, the creative team behind that issue, will be returning for “Old Lady Harley” from DC Comics.

The series will act as both a sequel to “Harley Quinn” #42 as well as a bridge to that story, using flashbacks to explain the circumstances that led to those events. The press release hints or makes mention of other DC characters/locations that we will feature in the 30-years in the future story, including Power Girl (who is now President of the United States) and Atlantis.

The character is a play on Old Man Logan (and, later, Old Man Hawkeye), a character that has had surprising staying power for Marvel, even, time traveling back to be a part of the “X-Men Gold” team.

The news of the miniseries shouldn’t be completely surprising, as DC Editor Chris Conroy tweeted in March that if the character is well received, DC would tell more stories featuring her. “Old Lady Harley is gonna be ridiculous, and we hope you like it, Cuz we wanna do more.”

”Old Lady Harley” #1 will hit stores October 24, 2018. Read the full press release below.

THE FUTURE IS HERE… AND SO IS OLD LADY HARLEY

The future is here puddin’, and so is…OLD LADY HARLEY? Spinning out of the events of HARLEY QUINN #42, Harley is back—30 years older, a little wiser and a WHOLE lot crazier!

“Think of it this way… if HARLEY QUINN #42 was your appetizer, then OLD LADY HARLEY, that’s your main course right there,” said writer Frank Tieri. “Your big, fat prime rib with a fully loaded baked potato, creamed spinach with everything is covered in gravy.”

This five-issue mini-series offers a deeper dive into why Harley left “and through flashbacks we’ll see what went on between Harley and the Joker and how it drove her into seclusion.”

After liberating New York City from her now-feral Gang of Harleys, poor Harley wants nothing more than to slip back into retirement in her coastal (and heavily guarded) paradise. But the Laughing Boys Gang has another idea—they’ll follow her to the ends of the Earth, to drag her back to their leader! It can’t actually be…him! Right?! He couldn’t still be alive could he? After all…Harley killed him herself with her bare hands! Should she turn to President Power Girl for help! Or flee to the 51st state, Atlantis? Step into an insane version of a future DC Universe we all better hope we don’t live to see!

From the creative team of writer Frank Tieri with art by Mauricet, comes OLD LADY HARLEY #1 out October 24, 2018.
