Obviously one of the more controversial subjects in the DC relaunch has been the change from Oracle back to a younger form of the character, back when Barbara could walk. Removing years of history of the character as a powerful handicapped icon, DC decided that when they said they would never change the character five years ago, they really meant “until the time was right to change the character.”

Now Oracle addresses the change directly. To be fair, she has some good arguments here.

The controversial and supposedly sold out Batgirl #1 is in stores as of yesterday, and be on the lookout for a review from one of our intrepid writers.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
