Parker Initiates Thunderbolt Idol!

It seems that writer Jeff Parker, while planning out the next years or so of the “so much better than anyone really thought it’d be” Thunderbolts, decided that he wants YOUR input in deciding the next villain to be inducted into the Thunderbolts program! Of course, we kind of thought that … you know… Hyperion was the next Thunderbolt, but we’re willing to cover our eyes for a minute here.

Either way, it’s an interesting way to spice things up for the Thunderbolts. DC currently has a voting process in works as well with the Legion, but I think it’s safe to say that we’re all generally more interested in seeing what villain gets added to the list if only to see how Parker writes them.

The List of Potential Recruits Reads As Follows:

  • Batroc
  • Mr. Hyde
  • Dark Beast
  • Absorbing Man
  • Sandman
  • Ana Kraven
  • Dr. Demonicus
  • Madame Masque
  • Living Laser
  • Scarecrow
  • The Griffin
  • Shocker
  • Brother Grimm

The poll, which can be found here, also includes a write-in. While the announcement does not go as far as to state that Parker will for sure write the winner of the poll into the book, he will reportedly “take the results into account” when crafting his tale. One thing is for sure though, regardless of who ends up on the team, the story will probably be thoroughly entertaining and Kev Walker will draw the hell out of it.

NOTE: if Rob Liefeld gets on the interwebs and claims that Marvel has already selected a winner to THIS poll as well, we’ll be the first to let you know.
