Paul Davidson and Matt Kindt Announced for first “Inhumanity” Tie-in

So, we know little bits and pieces about this whole “Inhumanity” thing. We know there is going to “Inhumans” #1 leading the charge, as well as tie-ins from Hickman’s Avengers books. We know that it’s a line-wide reaction to the events of “Infinity,” although not all books will directly reflect it, and we know it’s Marvel’s Next Big Thing.

Well, as a tie-in to the whole “Inhumanity” initiative, Marvel has announced on their website that the first mini that reflects the events of all of this is called “The Awakening,” illustrated by Paul Davidson and written by Matt Kindt. While little is revealed about the series, we know that a) it spins out of “Infinity: The Hunt” (also written by Kindt but illustrated by Steve Sanders) and b) it is described as a “crucial” book for the Marvel youth culture. The description of it seems to reflect well on the general idea of Inhumans as the new Mutants in the Marvel universe, where people wake up as Inhumans after the effects of the Terrigen mists spread about.

And with whatever is going on, young X-Men and Avengers have to team-up to deal with all these powerful, angry new kids. Sounds fun!

There’s very little else to go on, but if you happen to be a fan of any of the characters in the teaser cover above (such as Pixie), this is probably very exciting news.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
