In the wake of #imageEXPO dropping more bombshells than a tipsy boat full of supermodels, Marvel refuses to let Image take over all the news for the day. Over at Marvel.com they’ve announced an “All-New Doop” 5-issue miniseries from “X-Statix” co-creator Peter Milligan, “Ultimate Spider-Man” artist David Lafuente with covers by Mike Allred, the artist who created Doop with Milligan in their groundbreaking “X-Force/X-Statix” series 13 years ago.
The interview reveals a little more about the series, namely that it’ll take place during “Battle of the Atom” and show Doop’s never-before-seen role in that story. There’s also a few interesting notes on Milligan’s approach to writing Doop, the relationship Lafuente has with his collaborators, as well as a healthy dose of innuendo.
“All-New Doop” #1 comes out in April, and with a cover like that we hope it scars at least one small child walking through a comic shop for the first time.
