Today on DC’s The Source blog, they announced that Phil Jimenez not only signed an exclusive with their company but he will also be taking over art duties on “Adventure Comics” with issue #523. He’ll be collaborating with current writer Paul Levitz as they take the book in a new direction, introducing new characters and a new idea as the “Legion Academy” is introduced. The two creators will be co-plotting and creating the newbies together, and from the looks of the pages on The Source, this is going to be an incredible book visually.
It’s been rumored for a bit that Jimenez may take the leap back towards DC, and to be honest, his heavily detailed, George Perez-esque style fits the Distinguished Competition better. Even better yet, he fits the Legion like a glove as well. Get excited Legionnaires!
