Las Vegas-based indie label Pop! Goes the Icon is heading to the Pacific Northwest and to Emerald City Comic Con!

About Pop! Goes the Icon

Pop! Goes the Icon (PGTI) is a boutique print and online publishing house, specializing in sequential art – both in traditional pamphlet form (comic books) and as online presentations (webcomics) – as well as prose books, posters, prints and whatever else seems cool. More information can be found at www.popgoestheicon.com. Follow PGTI at www.twitter.com/popgoestheicon.

The full press release follows after the cut.

With hundreds of copies of the fresh-off-the-presses Omega Comics Presents #1 in tow, Pj Perez is bringing some Las Vegas publishing flavor to Seattle on March 13 and 14, as Pop! Goes the Icon makes its debut appearance at Emerald City ComiCon.

Now in its eighth year, ECCC is the Pacific Northwest’s premier comic book and pop culture convention. Taking over the Washington State Convention Center for two days, this year’s event features hundreds of exhibitors, programs and guests (including such industry giants as Stan Lee, Joe Quesada and Geoff Johns) and much more.

Omega Comics Presents, the first issue of PGTI’s new quarterly anthology series, features a variety of stories from talents such as Alex De-Gruchy, John Dimes, Dino Caruso, Robert Durham and Jason Copland. Ain’t It Cool News says the debut issue reads “like those cool comics of old.” Slated for summer release, the second issue will feature new stories from Perez, Russell Lissau, mpMann, Glenn Arseneau, Andy Gray and more.

PGTI will be at ECCC Artist Alley table M-12 both days of the convention. In addition to comics and prints for sale, limited-edition buttons and postcards will be available for free, and PGTI contributors will be making guest appearances throughout the weekend.

Gilbert Short

Gilbert Short. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. When he's not reading comic books so you don't have to, he's likely listening to mediocre music or watching excellent television. Passionate about Giants baseball and 49ers football. When he was a kid he wanted to be The Ultimate Warrior. He still kind of does. His favorite character is Superman and he will argue with you about it if you try to convince him otherwise. He also happens to be the head of Social Media Relations, which means you should totally give him a follow onTwitter.
