If you aren’t reading Karl Kerschl’s Eisner nominated webcomic The Abominable Charles Christopher, you’re missing out on one of the best comics on the market period. As David Petersen told Brandon and I, a close spiritual equivalent to it would be Calvin & Hobbes. If you can praise a comic higher than that, I’m not really sure how.
For those that don’t like reading digital comics and that is why you’ve been waiting to read TACC, your day is almost here: the pre-order form for Book One of The Abominable Charles Christopher is now up! I highly suggest picking it up, especially the Master Edition in which Kerschl himself will be sketching one of the characters inside the book for you.
For those that want more information about it here, click after the jump for the synopsis from the TACC page. I couldn’t recommend a comic higher – buy this book people!
This prestige hardcover book collects the first chapter of Karl Kerschl’s Eisner-nominated webcomic, ‘The Abominable Charles Christopher’.
Wrapped in an embossed, faux suede cover, this 144-page tome collects all of the comics from the first two years of the series, along with many additional illustrations and a gorgeous 40″ gatefold at the end of the book, featuring a dramatic pencil rendering of the key players, all in one scene.
Inside the front cover is a “This book belongs to” page, so you can personalize it for yourself or as a gift to loved ones. We’ve also included a space for sketches, so when you meet Karl (or order the Master edition) he can further personalize your book with a one-of-a-kind, original drawing.
We are currently offering two variants of the book. The first is the Pre-Order version; a signed edition that includes an exclusive Charles Christopher “Bookplate”, a 5″x7″ print (pictured below). These limited edition prints feature all new artwork and will be limited to pre-orders only.
The Master Edition is signed by Karl and includes a small sketch inside the book. It also includes the bookplate if you order during the pre-order period. This Master Edition will take slightly longer to ship, due to the time required for the drawing, but it’ll be worth it!
Dimensions: 10.5″ x 7.5″, 144 pages
NOTE: Pre-orders will close on May 12th! Following this, we will only be offering the stand-alone book or the Master edition. Shipping will begin on May 17th.
