Hot on the heels of the first trailer for Shane Black’s The Predator yesterday, Dark Horse Comics have announced a sequel to last year’s comic book series “Predator: Hunters,” simply titled “Predator: Hunters II.” Chris Warner will return to write, with Agustin Padilla (“Smallville Season 11: Chaos,” “Suicide Squad”) on art duties.

“Since the beginning of time, Predators have come to Earth from their home among the stars to stalk and kill the strongest of humans for sport. But now the tables have turned, and a group of human hunters has set their sights on the Predators. But they soon find out they are competing with a mysterious government agency that is after the same prey. The hunt is on, and only the strongest and smartest will survive!”

Dark Horse also revealed they will publish “Predator: The Essential Comics” Volume 1 collection this December. The 368-page trade paperback will reprint “Predator: Concrete Jungle,” Dark Horse’s first Predator comic series from 1989, and its follow-ups “Predator: Cold War” (1991) and “Predator: Dark River” (1996). All three series, which were written by Mark Verheiden with art Chris Warner and Ron Randall, revolved around NYPD Detective Schaefer, the brother of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character from the first film.

“Predator: Hunters II” #1 is out on August 8, 2018, and “Predator: The Essential Comics” Vol. 1 will be published on December 12. The new Predator film, meanwhile, will be released on September 14, 2018. Dark Horse will also release a compilation for Predator’s sister franchise, “Alien: The Essential Comics” Vol. 1, on October 24.
