Don’t you just love comics with time travel? I mean, I know Booster Gold is a popular book, but time travel is one of those topics that people either love or hate due to the intense convolution that time travel usually brings up. Well, I hope you’re ready for some more because this morning DC announced Vanishing Point, a new mini-series from the mind of Dan Jurgens!
Time Masters: Vanishing Point will be a six-issue mini starring Green Lantern, Booster Gold, Superman and the Time Master himself, Rip Hunter, as they try and solve a crisis at Vanishing Point, the place where time ends. Since the end of Final Crisis, when Darkseid laid the Omega Sanction down on good ol’ Bruce Wayne, Vanishing Point is apparently tearing itself apart, and only the combined might of those four heroes can stop it – by find Batman.
You might be saying, “Wait, what?” Isn’t this The Return Of Bruce Wayne? Well, Time Masters: Vanishing Point will be in addition to the Return of Bruce Wayne mini by Morrison and will act as a companion piece to the whole saga of Batman’s return. Not only that, but Vanishing Point will supposedly contain clues as to the next big DCU event, which may just resemble another Dan Jurgen’s title you may remember – Zero Hour. Maybe?
“It’s been a while since Dan Jurgens and I worked on his introduction of Vanishing Point into the DC Universe– but what’s a “while” to a coupla experienced time travelers like us! When Dan introduced Waverider and the Linear Men to SUPERMAN it was only a matter of time (sorry!) before Rip Hunter would be revealed to be a major player at the end of time. And now with the time-stream changing disappearance of Batman it’s about time (sorry, again!) that DC’s Time Masters took the search into their own hands! Add Booster Gold to the mix and the Time Masters just might have to deal with a detour or two– all the while hoping to find Batman before time unravels from Vanishing Point back to the big bang!”
