Today, via io9, comiXology and French publisher Delcourt announced “Promethee 13:13,” a prequel comic book series to Christophe Bec’s critically acclaimed “Promethee.” It will be a collaborative effort between writer Andy Diggle (“Green Arrow: Year One,” “Shadowman”) and artist Shawn Martinbrough (“Thief of Thieves,” “Luke Cage Noir”), with Jock (“Wytches,” “The Losers”) providing the cover artwork.

“13:13” will be told across two 48-page volumes and be set prior to the apocalyptic events of the original French comic. The title refers to a NASA space shuttle that goes missing, and other unexplained events that start to occur every day at 13:13pm, which puts the future of humanity at risk.

“Promethee” was first released in French in 2013 before being released in English in 2015. This prequel series set to be launched worldwide simultaneously in both French and English on comiXology. Series writer Andy Diggle took to Twitter to express that he is “delighted… to reveal” his involvement with the project, and to be working with his “old buddies” on the series.

As part of the announcement celebrations, the creative team will be signing posters for the series at New York Comic Con.

“13:13” is currently scheduled to be released on July 1, 2019. The full press release is below:
