Marvel Studios have released the first trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, due out February 17, 2023:

Set to “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” by Elton John, the trailer shows Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) enjoying celebrity life after the events of Avengers: Endgame, even if he apparently gets often mistaken by civilians (like Ruben Rabasa’s character) for Spider-Man. When Scott’s daughter Cassie (now played by Kathryn Newton) unveils a science project capable of sending signals through the Quantum Realm, the Langs, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Hope & Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) are soon sucked into the micro-universe, where all manner of lifeforms — intelligent, aggressive, or otherwise — are there to greet them.

Jonathan Majors is introduced as Kang the Conqueror, the warlike variant of He Who Remains from the Loki series, offering Scott a deal to take his family back to the macro-world in exchange for his help, presumably to escape the Quantum Realm. The trailer shows how his comics counterpart’s bizarre mask has been interpreted for the big screen, with its distinct lines being portrayed as scars, and the blue color scheme as the result of the helmet’s inner lighting. Bill Murray’s mysterious character, who appears to be some kind of noble native to the Quantum Realm, is also briefly shown. Unlike the version shown at San Diego Comic-Con and the D23 Expo, this cut of the trailer does not show the film’s take on MODOK.

Check out a poster, also emphasizing Majors as Kang (with his scars), below:

Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will mark a major stepping stone to 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, with screenwriter Jeff Loveness also set to write Majors’s villain in that movie.
