Sunday night, news broke that DC was ending a number of titles in December, despite there being claims by Dan DiDio in the press, that all their new titles were getting a full 12 issue run. Two of those new series, the magnificent “The Omega Men” and the meh “Doomed,” were cancelled outright. “Green Lantern: The Lost Army” was retroactively made to be a miniseries – despite nothing advertising that fact over the course of its publication history or its pre-order period. “Lobo,” DC’s attempt to retcon the unvierse’s biggest bastich into a sexy bounty hunter never really took off. “Justice League United,” only three months into its new creative direction was also given the short shrift, despite it being one of the most unique and interesting Justice Leagues stories in a decade. “Gotham by Midnight,” a supernatural horror book starring Bat-characters is also getting shitcanned, along with two digital first series: the Wonder Woman continuity free anthology “Sensation Comics,” as well as the retro (and immensely popular) “Batman ’66.”
All of these books (well, maybe not “Doomed”) have passionate fanbases, and all represented DC trying to do something different with its line. Which one are you saddest to see go? Vote in our poll, and then let us know in the comments why you’ll miss that title.
