Remender’s Runs On Uncanny X-Force and Secret Avengers Coming To An End

It was lightly teased before, but it looks we can now confirm: Rick Remender’s run on “Uncanny X-Force” is indeed coming to an end as confirmed by Comic Book Resources and Remender himself on Twitter. The current arc, ‘Final Execution’ that runs to issue #35, will be his last, and we’re all sad for it (the last issue to come out was #30). Issue #34 is solicited for November, so expect the finale in December solicits.

However, the silver lining for those of you who enjoy his work there is that things from “Uncanny X-Force” will be moving over to “Uncanny Avenger”, so if you needed additional reasons to pick up that book beyond the fact that he’s writing it with John Cassaday on art, then there you go.

Of course, with the announcement that “UXF” is ending, Remender also took the time to confirm that his run on “Secret Avengers” is also ending at #37, with the most recent issue of that being #30 as well. That ending is still a ways farther off than the “Uncanny X-Force” finale, but its still sad to see him go.

Remender also confirmed that “X-Force” would be continuing in some form or fashion beyond his finale. You don’t suppose that the rumor we threw out there about Dennis Hopeless taking over “X-Force” with Cable in the lead could be true, do you? (There were two Hopeless teasers after all).

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
