Alright, that seals the deal: this is definitely a joke. In today’s Guardians of the Globe team announcement, apparently the one handed and axe wielding protagonist of The Walking Dead Rick Grimes is joining the Guardians of the Globe in August. Of course, given that their universe is entirely disconnected from the Invincible universe and the general bizarre nature of the team members statements (“It makes no logical story sense for me to be here, but I suppose it will help sales.”), this is pretty much locked in as a gag and just something to get buzz going for the upcoming launch of the book.
Regardless, I love what they’re doing. Lightly poking at Marvel and boosting the absurdity level to a new level? Make mine Image.
