Titan Comics announced “Robotech Remix” today at the Harmony Golds Robotech Panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The new series will be a reimagining of the anime series, Robotech, with the creative team consisting of writer Brenden Fletcher (“Isola”), artist Elmer Damaso (“Robotech/Voltron”), colorist Marco Lesko (“Rat Queens”), and letterer Jim Campbell (“Blade Runner 2019”). Karl Kerschl (“The Abominable Charles Christopher”) will be providing the main cover for the first issue.
For those who are unfamiliar with the original Robotech, it told the story of Earth defending against different alien invasions, such as the Zentraedi and the Invid, as they try to take control of the alien technology that crashed on Earth. In order to fight the invaders, humanity utilized the alien technology for themselves and built the transforming Veritech fighters. The series ran for 85 episodes and first started airing in the USA in 1985. It was developed by Harmony Gold USA in association with Tatsunoko Production. As a result of the series’ popularity, there have been a variety of entries into the Robotech franchise, such as Robotech: The Movie in 1986 and the video game, Robotech: Battle Cry in 2002. Titan has held the comics license for the franchise since 2017.
“Robotech Remix” #1 is scheduled for release digitally and in-stores on October 9.
