As revealed on the Hollywood Reporter, it looks like Rob Thomas’ adaptation of “iZombie” by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred has a star: Rose McIver.

If Rose McIver’s name is unfamiliar to you, don’t fret — her star has only recently been on the rise. She’s recently appeared on Once Upon a Time as Tinker Bell, with a role on Showtime’s Masters of Sex as well and a small role in the Lovely Bones. Now, in addition to a role in a Lifetime movie that is not related to comics, she will be taking on the role of Liv (formerly Gwen), now a medical student and zombie girl who eats brains, gets the memories of her victims and goes out to solve the case of their murder.

Rob Thomas is on a hot streak right now with the Veronica Mars film literally THIS CLOSE to being able to be seen, so one can only hope for the best with the adaptation of “iZombie.” Sure, it seems like it’s only taking base elements of the comic (gal zombie + name of book + eating and memory stuff) and then turning it into a mix of Veronica Mars and Wonderfalls, but we’ll still watch it. You probably will too!

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
