Feel free to take this with as many grains of salt as you like, but it has come to our attention through an anonymous source that DC has plans to launch 5 new ongoings in June as well as cancel the “Pandora” book (which will actually end in May via a stealth cancellation).
We do not know any creative teams at the moment, but if this information is correct than here is what you have to look forward to in June:
- The long anticipated “Booster Gold” ongoing
- Another Superman book with “Superman and ARGUS”
- A relaunch/rebrand of the adventures of Dick Grayson in “Nightwing and Bluebird”
- A revitalized Teen Titans in “Young Justice”
- A new take on classic Kirby-isms “Forever People”
And that’s it. There has been much speculation about what is going on at DC with their efforts to maintain 52 books across the board, especially recently with so many books ending or being cancelled. I’m sure that, for DC fans, this is probably a nice little crop of titles to potentially look forward to.
At the very least, it’ll make some fans of Dick feel better with Nightwing not actually being dead, right? Ha! Just kidding. It could always be someone else under that mask. Tim Drake, maybe!
But the “Booster Gold” ongoing makes sense, and so does “Young Justice.” A new “Forever People” ongoing is something to look forward to the announcement of with a mix of fear and trepidation, though, and another Superman book? Eh. Why not, I guess.
So, again: these are unconfirmed, but we will happily stir the pot some. Happy solicit hunting!
