In news posted by MTV Splashpage, There is a Runaways movie coming. It should come as no surprise that it’s coming, as Disney’s bankroll can push lesser known properties to the forefront. And with the House of Mouse’s love of producing movies to tween and teen audiences, it was just a matter of time. For those of you who don’t know, Runaways is about a group of kids who run away from their parents when they find out their parents are supervillains.
According to Splashpage, the directors were down to Whedon and Peter Sollett, with Sollett getting The Runaways and Whedon getting Avengers.
Filming is said to start in January 2011 and finish in July of next year.
I can only hope my Casting Couch for the movie is at least a little accurate.
