– Yesterday’s Rundown ran an item about the first TPB of DC’s “Black Canary” series being promoted by the release of actual music from the band the lead character travels with. With that in mind, if you were debuting a series featuring a 6,000-year-old guy who LOVES to drink (and party too, but with added drinking), what would you come up with as a promotional tie-in? Beer, of course! And you’d be thinking the exact same thing those cats over at Valiant came up with, because they’ve teamed up with comics-friendly Chicago-based Arcade Brewery to create the Archer & Armstrong American Pale Ale to celebrate the debut of “A+A: The Adventures of Archer + Armstrong” #1 by Rafer Roberts & David LaFuente on March 16th. Not only that, but they’re giving this special brew its own launch party the following Saturday (March 19th) during C2E2! You can find out all the details (and there are a ton of them) at the link. As for the beer itself, as I am definitely the Archer of the Multiversity staff, I’ll let Valiant PR guru Hunter Gorinson describe it for you:

Hopped with Columbus, Chinook, Palisade, Cascade and Mandarina, Archer & Armstrong American Pale Ale builds on a light malt profile to create a complex and wonderful citrus/tangerine character. Clocking in at 7.0% alcohol by volume, Arcade’s first Valiant-inspired ale has all the fight of a long night out with Armstrong…but is slightly sweet enough to keep Archer in the game too!

As property-appropriate promotional tie-ins go, Valiant just raised the bar with this one. Can’t wait to see who comes up with the next big thing!

– Disney’s latest license to print money (a.k.a. the home video release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is set for Friday, April 1st as a digital download and Tuesday, April 5th as a Blu-Ray/DVD combo, according to Spinoff Online. Although highly unlikely, a small part of me thinks it’d be funny if Disney swapped out the film downloads with a gag video on that first day, given the date it falls on. Oh, the outrage THAT would cause; millions of voices crying out, indeed!

– While we’re on the subject of remaking 30 year old movies, the trailer for the new Ghostbusters version dropped yesterday. Looks like all the pieces are there for a good movie; we’ll see for sure on July 15th!

– Frank Miller speaks in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. Not terribly in-depth but good for a glance. And a chuckle when the interviewer mentions Miller should get some kind of royalty payment for the use of Elektra in the next season of Daredevl. Oh, sorry… MARVEL’S Daredevil. There’s your answer right there, folks.

– For a less flattering take on Miller’s career, read this piece by Susana Polo.

– And rounding out the Miller trifecta: remember that issue of “The Brave and The Bold” Miller did where Batman and Marv teamed up?

Greg Matiasevich has read enough author bios that he should be better at coming up with one for himself, yet surprisingly isn't. However, the years of comic reading his parents said would never pay off obviously have, so we'll cut him some slack on that. He lives in Baltimore, co-hosts (with Mike Romeo) the Robots From Tomorrow podcast, writes Multiversity's monthly Shelf Bound column dedicated to comics binding, and can be followed on Twitter at @GregMatiasevich.
