– Matt Kindt (“X-O Manowar”, “MIND MGMT”) in an interview yesterday announced “Eternity” a new prestige format limited series from the Valiant universe. The series will be a follow up to “Divinity,” “Divinity II,” and “Divinity III” that will dive into the deities of the Valiant universe in a Jack Kirby like manner. The series also reunites Kindt with artist Trevor Hairsine (“Killapalooza,” “Ultimate Six”) and the rest of the creative team from the previous three books. “Eternity” #1 will be on sale October 25.

– Fans of Rob Liefeld (“X-Force,””Youngblood”) will be happy to learn that the man is back at it again, this time in the backups of Image’s new Youngblood series. The Image founder will be writing and drawing the long awaited “Bloodstrike Finale” in the backups of Chad Bowers (“X-Men ’92,” “Deadpool: Bad Blood”) and Jim Towe (“Riverdale,” “Cyberforce: Artifacts”) ongoing Youngblood series starting with #4 which comes out Agust 9.

– Writer Steve Orlando (“Justice League of America,” “Virgil”) and artist Giovanni Timpano (“Eclipse,” “The Shadow”) will be teaming up for “The Shadow/Batman,” not to be confused with “Batman/The Shadow” which this series will be a continuation of. Orlando will once again be writing the two detectives in this mini-series as they begrudgingly team up to save the world from an ancient evil. Issue #1 will be on shelves October 4.

– Matt Reeves (War for the Planet of the Apes, Cloverfield) yesterday confirmed that he will be writing a new script for The Batman. The original script which was written by star and former director Ben Affleck, his Argo writing partner Chris Terrio and DC wonder boy Geoff Johns (“Batman Earth One,” “Justice League”) would have seen Batman facing off against Deathstroke, who has already been cast, no word yet on whether or not the villain will be included in this new draft.

– According to Mike Mignola (“Hellboy”, ”Cosmic Odyssey”) the previously announced film reboot of Hellboy was originally intended as a continuation of the Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Pacific Rim) film franchise. After it became clear that neither del Toro nor star Ron Perlman would be returning for the third film Mignola decided it would be best if he and director Neil Marshall began anew and thus Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen was born. While no date has been announced the film is slated to be released in 2018.

Black Panther will feature not one, not two but three classic villains from Black Panther’s rogues gallery; however, one will be going by a name most won’t recognize. Man-Ape, the leader of the Wakandan White Gorilla cult who dresses up as a big white gorilla, will, rather than going by the racially tone deaf moniker, be known by the name M’Baku in the film. M’Baku is described as the leader of the Wakandan religious minority and you will be able to see him in Black Panther next year on February 16.

– Go Go Power Rangers! You Mighty Morphin pre-watergate era Power Rangers! In a press release yesterday Boom Studios announced that “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” #20 will feature a never before seen group of Power Rangers from 1969. The story will revolve around the 60s era team fighting a dastardly and in no way rubber-looking villain on the moon! Issue #20 of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” will be hitting shelve October 18.

– FOX has released nine new videos for their upcoming X-Men show The Gifted showcasing each of the main characters. The videos feature each of the characters with a short piece of their dialogue as voice over and each of the mutants has a little hint of their power at the end of the videos. The series, which unlike FX’s Legion will be tying into the X-Men movie franchise, will be debuting October 2.
