Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– As many of you know, Alan Taylor of “Game of Thrones” is directing “Thor: The Dark World,” but what you don’t know is what he’ll be bringing to the movie. For me, as Heat Vision shared, he’ll be grounding the story in more tangible, old feeling looks instead of the bright, computer-generated images of the first movie. While I greatly enjoyed the first one, Asgard to me always looked a little ridiculous. The idea that they’ll be a bit more practical with the special effects to me feels like a much better decision, and very promising for the prospects of the film.

– Are you in the New York area and want to go to a totally cool comic event? Sean Murphy, Scott Snyder, Rafael Albuquerque, Nathan Fox and Mark Doyle are going to be participating in a talk hosted by Phil Jimenez on “The Art of Horror: The Gory Details of Graphic Novels” for the School of Visual Arts. This event will be at 7 pm on October 15, and sounds like basically the coolest thing ever. ENVIOUS.

– Villains Month may be a worthless collection of ridiculousness generally, but holy crap, this “Dial E” preview looks amazing, with art from people like Emma Rios, Emi Lenox, Jock, Jeff Lemire, and more. Amazing.

Michael Jai White is Bronze Tiger in “Arrow.” Nothing to add, besides that kicks a hilarious amount of ass.

– Writer Stephen Desberg and artist Dan Panosian are teaming up for a new crime comic series “John Tiffany” and honestly, Dan Panosian is a must buy artist. Or at least he should be for more of you guys because that guy is an absolute beast, and this looks RIGHT up his alley.

– Holy crap this “Dark Knight Legacy” fan film that continues the story from Nolan’s trilogy is awful.
