Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– In the rarest of rare interviews, HOLY CRAP BILL WATTERSON DID AN INTERVIEW! Mental Floss had the opportunity to talk with him, and online they have a brief chat with him. If you want the full thing, buy the magazine (which is a print thing they sell in like…stores or something), but even the smallest of interviews are truly excellent when they involve the reclusive Watterson.

– This recap over at Tor of the Cup O’ Joe and New 52 panels at NYCC highlights the differences between their responses of questions about diversity, and man, this is a pitch perfect example of the differences of the two companies overall right now. Reading through it, I’m a little blown away by it. It’s well worth a read, but prepare to do a whole lot of sighing.

This TV spot for Batman: Arkham Origins is, excuse my french, fucking spectacular.

– As if I could want to watch The View less, Dan Didio will be appearing on the show to listen to Whoopi Goldberg’s graphic novel pitch (and presumably take her up on the offer because why else would they be there). So, if you’re a huge Didio fan and a huge fan of The View, then you’re going to be freaking jacked. If that very specific niche of humanity exists.

Congrats to James Sime and the rest of Isotope Comics for their eleventh consecutive “Best Comic Store” from the SF Bay Guardian. That’s an incredible streak, especially considering how competitive that market is for comics.

– Comic Arts Brooklyn announces what’s going on this year, and holy crap, what a list of guests. David Mazzucchelli, Paul Pope, Jeff Smith, Art Spiegelman and more. If I lived in that area, I would be there all day, erry day. But I’m in Alaska, so please go for me.

– Today is the last day to back Epic, a Kickstarter from Tyler James and our friends at Comixtribe. “Epic” is a superhero comedy series about a teen superhero whose weakness is literally pretty girls, which causes all kinds of problems for him. It sounds fun, looks to be a bit of a kick in the pants for the superhero genre and it’s pushed well past its stretch goal and comes with all kinds of cool extras, so be sure to check it out and back it.
