Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.
In the deal, they even have rights to go back through 20th Century Fox’s back catalogue of films and productions and cherry pick ones to turn into comics. It’s a mammoth deal, and I’m excited to see where it goes from here. For now. bravo to Boom! for being a real mover and shaker this year, and congrats to everyone over there on the big deal.
– Edgar Wright tweeted a little picture of something he’s in L.A. working on, and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look like Ant-Man.
– MC EIC/Founder Matt Meylikhov has released a free comic with artist Ruben Rojas over at Challenger Comics, titled “Stuck,” and I highly recommend checking it out. First off, Rojas is a very talented artist who is given a great chance to unleash in this comic, and it’s an interesting character study set in a cool sci-fi concept. Check it out, and don’t forget to search through Challenger while you’re at it for other cool comic stuff.
– Is Brian Buccellato and Francis Manapul’s next DC comic Detective Comics? That’s what Rich over at Bleeding Cool suggests, and results are mixed in Multiversity’s camp about that potential news. What do you think of it? The book will definitely be beautiful, but can they make it pop? Here’s hoping it for.
– Damon Lindelof writes for the Hollywood Reporter about the finale for Breaking Bad, but ultimately, he pretty much just talks about Lost and how people reacted negatively to its finale. It’s a bizarre piece, and really self-indulgent if you ask me.
– I don’t know if you know this, but Newsarama REALLY likes lists. Here’s 10 comic book characters that actually didn’t debut in comics.
– Could ComiXology be the next big IPO?
