Welcome back to The Rundown, our daily breakdown on comic news stories we missed from the previous day. Have a link to share? Email me at david@multiversitycomics.com.

– So, you know that whole JH Williams III and W. Haden Blackman leaving Batwoman over them not letting to marry Kate Kate to her potential bride to be Maggie Sawyer (amongst other things)? Well, DC just don’t give a fuck about your outrage, as not only are they sticking to their guns, they’re also rolling Williams and Blackman off the book before the time the team had chosen to walk off the book, with writer Marc Andreyko taking over the book with issue #25. Now, while I think in a vacuum Andreyko taking over the book is a great fit (after all, he was the guy behind the beloved “Manhunter” series), it’s weird that DC is cutting them out of the book even earlier just so they can have a Zero Year tie-in that nobody wants. I think the DC haterade is almost getting out of control at this point, but damn, they sure want to bring the pain to their world don’t they?

– In case you were starting to think maybe DC isn’t COMPLETELY against their characters marrying, they’ve now confirmed that Mera and Aquaman are not married in “Aquaman” even though he refers to her as “my Queen.” Take that marriage!

– No matter who came in to Quantum & Woody after Tom Fowler was going to make me a bit sad, but bringing Ming Doyle onto the book after Fowler left? Okay, I can get down with that. Doyle is an incredible artist, and her work on Mara this year has been superb. Taking over this book with her Mara colorist Jordie Bellaire staying on is flat out awesome, and I am very glad this book that I am really enjoying is getting another incredible artist to take it over.

– What is From the Gutters and what does it have to do with Jamie S. Rich eating giant, phallic donuts from Voodoo Donuts in Portland? Umm…we think it’s a comic book show, but we’re flexible on that idea. Either way, the video we linked to is hilarious and we are intrigued.

– This SPX print from Jeff Smith that combines Bone with RASL is totally freaking awesome.
