– Do you remember G.I. Joe: Retaliation? No? I do. It was an incredible film where London was gratuitously destroyed and no one batted an eye over it. I think The Rock feuded with john Cena over it because he thought it wasn’t a good movie? I don’t know. Well, according to the fine people at The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount is looking to expand the G.I. Joe into an expanded universe. So does that mean we’ll get a Snake Eyes movie? Maybe The Rock will do a solo Roadblock movie? Maybe forget they’re not technically G.I. Joes and do a Shore Leave and Mile High Netflix series?
Nope. Paramount wants to throw four other toy franchises into the films: Micronauts, Visionaries, M.A.S.K. and ROM: Spaceknight. I’m twenty, so I only know what one of those things are but I’m already excited at the prospect of Channing Tatum hanging out with ROM.
– With Jessica Jones wrapped up and Luke Cage on the way, all eyes are on Iron Fist which has entered pre-production. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel took calls to cast Danny Rand with an Asian actor seriously, but are probably going to move ahead with a white actor which is pretty disappointing, to say the least. In other Iron Fist news, Point of Geeks has the production’s character breakdowns, which include a Harry Marshall, an arrogant caucasian male, whose identity no one can pin down. Is it Orson Randall? Probably. At least a lot of us hope so.
– In March, Marvel will be celebrating Women’s History Month with variants of all their female heroes! Weirdly enough Milo Minara was not asked to participate. Check out some of the covers at CBR and expect these to hit stands in a few months. CBR
– Marvel is looking for Star-Lord’s daddy and it may just be Escape From New York and Solid Snake Impersonator Kurt Russell, according to The Wrap. This makes a lot of sense when you consider that Chris Pratt has been doing a solid Kurt Russell impression since at least last summer.
– Here’s a trailer for Gotham teasing Mr. Freeze. Check back next week when they do a teaser for Robin.
